Starbucks Jumps on the Gluten-Free Bandwagon
Starbucks has added a gluten-free pastry to its menu. Valencia Orange Cake is made with seven gluten-free ingredients and will hit stores on May 5, 2009. Each piece will sell for $2.25. The new item was introduced to reach out to customers with celiac disease, which involves gluten intolerance. Other companies are also offering gluten-free products, including Anheuser-Busch’s Redbridge beer. Forbes, April 17, 2009
