Probiotics and the Common Cold
A study recently published in Pediatrics shows that children who were treated with probiotics showed a decrease in cold symptoms, including fever, runny nose, and cough. The study examined a group of 326 children of 3 to 5 years of age. Those treated with probiotics has fewer symptoms by more than 50% and receive fewer antibiotic prescriptions. Children treated with probiotics also missed less school due to sickness. Pediatrics, July 27, 2009
