Gender-Linked Abdominal Pain Among Adolescents
A recent study conducted in Scotland found that gender is a potential factor in stomachaches in young teenagers; girls were more likely to have on-going stomach pain. Besides being female, these children were also compulsive, more nervous, high strung and perfectionists. Boys who experienced stomach pain were consistently taller and had behavioral problems or were unhappy with school. The scientists concluded that the potential gender-linked symptoms warrant further investigation. Reuters, Dec. 24, 2007
