Chronic Functional Disorders Linked to More Severe Fatigue
An article published in the Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics finds that fatigue is more severe in patients who have chronic functional GI disorders than in patients with organic GI disorders. This information was the result of a study on a group of 339 patients who were tested using two different scales, one measuring fatigue, the other measuring psychological well-being. Fatigue was linked to several other factors, including psychological well-being, severity of symptoms, problems with sleeping, gender, and job status. Today in Medicine, Sept. 2, 2008
