Natural Clay in Treatment of Diarrhea in IBS

A group of researchers in Taiwan showed that natural clay named Dioctahedral smectite (DS) was useful in treating diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome. The effect was proved to be superior to placebo in an eight week trial. Read the abstract. J. Gastroenterology and Hepatology
